Tweefort has just confirmed some pretty big shows for September. Clear your calendar for the first two weeks of the month, because we’ve got lots going on and you’re not going to want to miss it.
We’re really, really excited to have just confirmed Cars Can Be Blue from Athens, GA for Thurs., Sept. 10 at Two Boots in Bridgeport. Get ready for cute, potty-mouthed indiepop goodness. Touring with CCBB will be The Lovely Eggs from Lancaster, UK. We’ll also have another band TBA. This is going to be a great show.
Tuesday, Sept. 8 we’ll have another great show at Cafe Nine in New Haven. Yeah, I know it’s a Tuesday, but what else are you going to do? Come out and hear some good music. This show will be FREE. We’ll have New Haven’s own Eula, who need no introduction. We’ll also have Cleemann, who hails from Denmark, playing some Radiohead-ish solo music. Cleemann will be in the states for the Nebraska Pop Festival, and we’re pretty psyched we’ll be able to get him a show. There’ll be another band TBA as well.
Starting the month off right, Thurs., Sept. 3, we’ll have two European bands and one hometown hero at Cafe Nine. Labrador hails from Denmark and Germany. You’ll want to hear this guitar and bass duo sing their brand of loungy indiepop. Lisa Bouvier, from Sweden, spends a lot of her time in a great band called Stars In Coma, but we’ll have her with her own backing band. She sings some really fun, up-tempo indiepop that will get your head bobbing — it might even get your feet moving. Rounding out the line-up will be the solo debut and CD release of New Haven music veteran Steve Deal. We’re really excited to be able to host Steve … his new solo stuff is great and it sounds like the influences run the gamut from Buddy Holly to Cheap Trick. Be sure to come out and support Steve.
Don’t forget about our shows in August as well … August 7 will be the Tweefort compilation release show with Conversion Party, Boy Genius, Welcome and The Bynars. August 27 we’ll be at Surf Nite! at Two Boots getting down to some good surf-inspired garage pop with The Mystery Lights and The Villains.
We’re really glad to be able to bring all this great pop music to Southern CT — now get out of your house and enjoy it.
