Thanks to everyone who came out to the ArtSpace Underground Saturday night. It was the first time the ArtSpace did a show with three bands, and I think it went pretty well. And we definitely showed that hard and fast 11 pm ending time who’s boss.
The Cavemen Go started things off right with some awesome pop music that had my head bobbing the whole time. I’m looking forward to seeing them July 10 at Cafe Nine with the Rub Wrongways Cavalcade Caravan of Stars, or whatever all those Northampton popsters are calling themselves. Either way, it’s sure to be a great night of indiepop and The Cavemen Go will be releasing their long-awaited new album, “New Lives.”
If Jesus Had Machine Guns (aka Jimi Patterson) impressed with his electronic sounds accompanied by images projected on the gallery wall. It was very cool.
The Hush Now were great sports about going on later than planned and they could not be stopped. They kept the rock coming until the wee hour of 11:20 pm! Lead singer Noel Kelly even threw his guitar over his head and stomped on it … yeah, and that wasn’t even the last song, they kept playing after that. We’ll have to get The Hush Now back down here to play again. They were great.
So now the ArtSpace Underground will take a short summer break and will be back September 19 with more great bands, more art, more happenings and themed nights. Rumor is there’ll be more from Jason Hammel of Mates of State as well. So keep your eyes and ears open for more ArtSpace news. And head over there and just check out the art sometime if you’re downtown. They’ve got great stuff going on over there all the time.

It’s the Rub Wrongways Caravan of Stars. Though “cavalcade” would be good too. As would “avalanche”.
While the Caravan of Stars is usually a touring show of short sets by four or five different acts (School for the Dead, The Fawns, Jason Bourgeois, Sitting Next To Brian, etc), for this Cafe 9 show, it’ll be a single group playing select songs from each writer. Or something.
sounds great. we’ll be there.
we’ll have to get some of you down again to play a tweefort show too.
